The Communications Division is housed in the Bixby Police Department and is the Public Safety Answering Point for the City of Bixby.
The Communications Division has the responsibility of answering all incoming emergency and non-emergency multi-line phones; emergency and non-emergency radio traffic for the Police Department, the Fire Department and Liberty Volunteer Fire Department and performing computer inquiries for wanted persons, vehicle registration, drivers license. Communication officers are also responsible for records and are certified jailers.
The Communications Officer typically has the first contact with the citizens and other law enforcement agencies.
